Synth Pop / New Wave / and Electronic Music Pioneer Gary Numan comes to Chicago’s Thalia Hall in support of his new album- “Savage’ with a Mad Max / Apocalyptic setscape that shows the world on the verge of going over the abyss.
Gary Numan is without a doubt a forward thinking musician singer / songwriter: way way ahead of the curve from other artists from his era: not one to rest on past catalog and keeping the songs the same.
Gary Numan’s a musician who understands the lyrics won’t necessarily change; but he’ll deliver them blast furnace / industrial style ala Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails, and pack them with some punch.
And for a guy who was born in 1958- that’s saying something.
Gary Numan: A guy doing his best to stay relevant in a broken and tattered world.
A surprisingly impressive performance from beginning to end.
And Chicago’s Thalia Hall provided a perfect backdrop to the overall show’s ambience.
