WHITE REAPER w/ POST ANIMAL

Garage Punk stalwarts White Reaper- from Louisville Kentucky. They call themselves “The World’s Best American Band”. Now that’s sayin’ somethin’. I don’t know if I would go that far – but God bless ’em for being brash and straightforward with an “I don’t give a shit what you think” kinda attitude. Lord knows we need more of that in this unruly day and age.
And White Reaper definitely put on a galvanizing live show without a doubt.
Like most bands of this nature- what with the Metro Chicago making it a 17 and over event- you definitely get bodysurfers. Lots and lots of bodysurfers. Even a friendly band like Twin Peaks shows up – and what do they do towards the end of White Reaper’s set? Well they bodysurf as well.
Hell – even White Reaper’s Tour Manager does double duty: He comes out with a full length mirror for Guitarist / Lead Singer Tony Esposito to watch himself play a mean guitar, and later in the show, in the midst of all the crazy bodysurfers, he shows off his Yo Yo skills. Quite talented I might add.
So – you get the point. White Reaper have developed a reputation for clearly putting on an out of control live show: similar to Chicago’s Twin Peaks – with out of control crazy being the order of the day.
You know the energy level is high in the venue even before headliner White Reaper goes on: Opener Post Animal, a more mellower version of White Reaper, does not stop the bodysurfers at all. You gotta get in shape for the main event.
You come to an event like this- you’re entering White Reaper’s world. Full on turbo charged reckless fun is the order of the day.
