James Murphy and LCD Soundsystem:
Welcome to a special night of cowbells and disco mirror balls in full effect.
That mirror ball of LCD Soundsystem: It spun the light fantastic from beginning to end, all at the right opportunities in whatever song to trip the crowd on the main floor of the Aragon Ballroom to dance the night away.
LCD Soundsystem are a dance party like no other- not much time for James Murphy to chit chat: Just segue from one song to the next, with maybe one conversation to the crowd of devotees about having to take a quick bathroom break, and then they’ll be right back.
Touring in support of their new album “American Dream”: the song “Call the Police” barnstorming its way front and center.
Not much room on the stage with eight musicians freely moving about to switch each others instruments, and even James Murphy helping out like a roadie midway through the show to set up shop with a snare and floor tom stage right.
It’s all about the music baby.
And a gigantic / hypnotic / one of a kind disco mirror ball.
