J. Roddy Walston and the Business rock mightily. They rock religously. They ROCK. Period.
They stir up a rollicking good time and make you holler in delight with all of Roddy’s hairflips from his makeshift piano, and massive guitar and piano built songs.
J. Roddy Walston is a man possessed when performing onstage: A mix of early blues / soul / passion / whatever – a man who takes delight in peeling off awesome guitar riffs and heavy duty boogie chords from the piano with the ground shaking underneath.
A feel good band to put you in a feel good mood on a mid afternoon: It doesn’t matter if it’s a short set for a live JBTV Studio audience, or a headlining show at the Metro Chicago (the following night).
You’re there because you want to kick out the jams and revel in the reverie that is J. Roddy Walston and the Business.
Great guys to hang out with too: the pose session after soundcheck before the taping was a blast, with J Roddy and his band, Jerry Bryant of JBTV and Chris Vicente and Greg Corner as well.
Seriously- You’ve got to check these guys out on this brief tour.
