THE BEACHES: LIVE AT JBTV MUSIC TELEVISION
THE BEACHES: LIVE AT JBTV MUSIC TELEVISION CHICAGO
Wednesday May 15, 2019
The Beaches: Comprised of sisters Jordan and Kylie Miller (on lead vocals / bass and guitar respectively), Eliza Enman- McDaniel on drums, and Leandra Earl on keyboards and guitar and the occasional tambourine, the Toronto based band The Beaches are a mix of glam rock and some garage. They’re tremendously awesome and infectious and cool girls with a biting edge and a wicked way about them performing live.
Case in point: even before the show at JBTV Music Television, and before the soundcheck, we had an impromptu photo session of sorts in my studio behind the stage. Leandra Earl, all decked out in red everything, including a cool hat was at the ready for a quick shoot, followed by the rest of the girls.
There was no need for any kind of direction- the girls have a sassy and sexy way about them, and confidence by the boatload. Have to say working with them was a blast, and that’s even before the show began.
The Beaches are loaded with killer riffs, witty lyrics, and a stage swagger that’s defined by the word FUN.
Their love of Rock n’ Roll is obvious: with wide spinning influences including but not limited to Nirvana, The Strokes, Amy Winehouse, St. Vincent, Fidlar, and lots of Blondie.
Performing live is particularly important to The Beaches, who can’t wait to blast out their songs to yet another adoring crowd, whether it be in a club, an auditorium, or at our intimate stage at JBTV Music Television.
The band rides on confidence, with each other, and also with the might of their songwriting.
The Beaches: definitely a band riding on the moment and in the ever present.
Such a wonderful and memorable performance on a Wednesday afternoon at JBTV.
