St. Lucia Live at JBTV Music Television

What a pleasant surprise having Jean- Philip Grobler and his band St. Lucia grace our stage at JBTV Music Television in Chicago.
It’s been a remarkable ride for Jean- Philip Grobler over the past couple of years, not just in the crafty music he’s been creating as of late, but with his family as well.
Married to Patti Beranek, a key player in St. Lucia as well, and having their newborn son “Indy” Grobler in tow for the tour, making his way around the JBTV Studio floor from left to right.
Indy is a bundle of energy, that’s for sure.
Nice to see him and his dad during some downtime at soundcheck, relaxing and having fun together.
I bring this up from a photographer’s perspective, simply because it just can’t help to bring you in to how they handle things on the road and on tour, going about the business in preparing for a show, and enjoying it all.
Nice to have Jerry Bryant of JBTV in on the pose shots with Patti and Jean- Philip along with their son, and seeing Jerry grin from ear to ear as well.
And as for the music of St. Lucia: let’s just say Grobler has his ear to the ground when it comes to cool and artful ’80’s synthpop.
Without a doubt over the past few years and a couple of releases, his music music is getting more sophisticated, the arrangements are more complex, and the wispy and delicate vocal arrangements are still allowing for catchy tunes which provoke you to the dancefloor.
It has been a remarkable ride for Grobler and his band St. Lucia, and it makes for a wonderful afternoon to have him and his band play on our cozy and intimate stage at JBTV Music Television.
It was a dazzling and captivating show from beginning to end, without a doubt.
