House of Vans Chicago
Thursday 7/25/19
The multi- talented Anderson .Paak headlining a show at House of Vans Chicago, that right there should tell you something special and oh so memorable is going to take place right there.
Especially how in the past 6 months to a year or so, Anderson .Paak has blown up huge, let alone headlining a show a little more than a month ago at Huntington Bank Pavilion in Chicago.
And yet, here we are all ever present, on a hot and sweaty night, in a packed House of Vans Chicago, ready to witness the inevitable awesome Anderson . Paak.
And he does not disappoint, starting off on the drums, with insanely crazy and timely beats and rhythm to match his band, The Free Nationals.
Anderson .Paak is out in support of his latest release “Ventura”, which came out back in April of this year.
The title follows the theme of his previous albums, making his way up the scenic California coastline.
Ventura is a bit more personal in revealing details about the artist Anderson .Paak, with slick and sophisticated R&B front and center, along with heavy doses of funk and rap.
Supported at the House of Vans Chicago with his band The Free Nationals, who also happened to have an opening set before Anderson took to the stage:
Jose Rios on guitar and backing vocals, Ron Tnava Avant on Keyboards and backing vocals, Kelsey Gonzalez on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Callum Connor, who DJ’s and also drums when Anderson . Paak isn’t behind the kit.
Also there were two backing vocalists, adding extra punch to the mix.
Without question, large venue or small cozy venues like the House of Vans, Anderson . Paak’s home is on the stage. Any stage.
The guy is simply inexhaustible, full on energy and captivating to watch.
Anderson . Paak makes his presence felt throughout the confines of the House of Vans, not just limited to the stage proper, but convening and mixing it up with his devoted fans by springing out into the pit at the front of the stage, and then onto the main dance floor and beyond.
This is the definition of a PARTY, from beginning to end.
Everyone that I can tell within earshot is going bonkers/ crazy for this man, and this show of shows.
Man, what a most memorable show with Anderson .Paak at House of Vans Chicago.
